Bundle Up With a Blanket Scarf
11:00
This winter has been one of Vancouver's coldest ones yet. As someone who clearly was not ready for the drastic decline in temperature, I hastily had to find every possible way to stay warm; this is where blanket scarves made its entrance into my life.
The large and comfortable bundles of fabric have become a staple piece in my winter wardrobe. I know that wrapping one of these scarves is very basic concept, however I still wanted to share the top three ways I like to wrap mine as it may be of some value to some of you. The scarf I'm featuring in this post is the Wilfred Colourblock Blanket in black/oak that I purchased from Aritzia.

The most common I've been using this scarf is as a literal blanket (no surprise there honestly). Essentially I just fold the fabric once diagonally and drape it over my shoulders. Nothing amazing, but extremely comfortable, especially in cold lecture halls.

Another way I like to wrap my blanket scarf is by completely wrapping it around my neck; this option helps me stay warm the best. To achieve this look, you want take one end of the your unfolded scarf and wrap it around your neck multiple times. When you come to the end of the scarf, simply tuck it underneath the already wrapped scarf.
I find that this style looks best with a long trench coat and a pair of dark-washed skinny jeans; so if you're unsure of how to style this scarf look, that's one way of going about it. I mostly wear this look outdoors rather than indoors because like I mentioned before, this look keeps me warm the best. It also gives me more leeway to layer more clothing pieces to maximize my chances of staying warm.

This final look is similar to the prior one, but instead of continuously wrapping your scarf around your neck, you only need to wrap it once around your neck and let the ends just drape to the sides. I tend to pair this look with a loose knitted sweater or with a plain t-shirt and cardigan to give off a more "laid-back" feel to my outfit.
This week's post was on the shorter side. It's one that's considered a no-brainer. Nonetheless, I had the urge to write about this topic, so I did. Currently, I'm exploring an array of topics to write about and share with all of you. Please do let me know what posts you like and dislike reading. Anyways, I'll see you all next week with a new (and hopefully longer) post. Until then, take care!
