First Impressions: Marc Jacobs Glow Stick

Elvina here! I know it has been a while since my last post, a lot of things happened in my life and I was not able to focus on making new post. You all have been very patient with me and I am so grateful to have such supportive and understanding readers! I have finally been able to get my life back in order and am now able to make posts again *insert cheers here*.
This week I wanted to give my two-cents on the Marc Jacobs Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator. As of lately, a lot of people have been raving about this highlighter. Obviously my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to commit and purchase the highlighter at Sephora. At first I was very hesitant about this purchase as it is an expensive one, however I believe that I got my dollars worth. I understand that $53 (in Canadian dollars) seems like a ridiculous price for a small highlighter, however I think you should understand that this is a higher end product. If you have the money to spare, then you may like this highlighter; if not then there are many other affordable highlighters out there that are as good or even better than this one.

In terms of how much product you get, I'd say you get a decent amount. I know many people complain about how there isn't enough product, but I want to point out that although it may seem like you don't get a lot of product when you roll out the highlighter, the width/length of the product makes up for the height. I will also say that a little product goes a long way and will last you a good amount of time.
If you're someone who likes a very bold highlight, then you may want to consider a powder highlight or something a little more pigmented. This highlighter does have a lot of potential to be built on. When I was applying this product I noticed that the highlight was very subtle, which I personally like as I do not like a very bold highlight on myself; however when I am in the mood for a bold highlight, I first apply this one before going over it with another powder highlighter.

This highlighter comes in one shade which is called Spotlight; it is a fusion of silver and gold making it an universal shade that can be used for any skin tone. As a tanned/dark skin toned individual, a lot of highlighters that have a shimmer to them tend to make me look ashy, this highlighter on the other hand doesn't make me look ashy. It's actually the perfect shade for me. I know that the swatch on my hand in the picture above looks a little ashy, but after blending it out with a Beauty Blender, I am left with a very dewy and fresh looking highlight.
I do highly recommend that before you purchase the product, you should test it out and blend it on you skin to see if this highlighter is something you see yourself using in the future. I'm not making this post to say that you must buy this product or that you need it, however I think that if you want a good everyday highlighter and have some money to spare, then this might be a great edition to your makeup collection.
