Innocence with a Kick

Now that the weather is getting a lot more warmer here in Vancouver, I can finally put away my jackets and pulled out some more of my favourite summer pieces. This outfit is one of the more girly and elegant outfits; it is something I'd probably wear for a date night or even a get together with friends.

This romper is the definition comfort with its flowy and soft chiffon material. I came across this romper a while back, I don't recall where it's from, however I believe it cost me around $20-$35. I recommend looking around on some online stores to find some similar styles. This specific romper has some nice bell-bottom sleeves that adds a sweet touch to the overall elegant floral print. The only downside to this piece is the deep neck; I recommend using a safety pin or sew on a button to help fix the plunging neckline if you don't feel comfortable with the depth.

After I tried on this romper when I found it sitting in my closet, I automatically felt very elegant and girly. Right away I thought that this floppy hat would match it perfectly. I got this hat from a store called Ever New Melbourne, I have actually featured this hat in a previous post that can be found here. Again it adds a great touch to the outfit, making it look very sweet and innocent.

Now if there's one thing everyone knows about me, it's that as much as I love sweet and innocent outfits, they're just not me. Hence why I named this outfit "Innocent with a Kick." These white platform boots are from H&M is the kick this outfit needed. The chunky heels of the shoe changes the entire outfit from innocent to edgy, something that definitely screams my name. The 3 inch heels may look intimidating, however they are extremely comfortable; I can last in these shoes for the entire day.
I understand that edgy isn't for everyone. If you want to keep the outfit looking sweet and innocent then I would recommend wearing a nice pair of white flats or even a pair of all white sneakers if you want to make the outfit look more casual. As long as you stay away from dark colours, such as black, then the outfit will look great!

Of course no outfit is complete without accessories. I thought I would pair this outfit with silver jewelry because it matches the colour palette. I decided to wear my crystal necklace which was also mentioned in a previous post that you can find here.
Another thing I added to this outfit is my dad's vintage silver Casio watch. This watch is around perhaps 25+ years old and means a lot to me; obviously I won't go into detail into this watch as it is a more personal story that I can share another time. I know that not everyone has a vintage watch laying around, so any kind of silver watch or bracelet will go nicely with the outfit.
I also like to wear a silver ear cuff with this outfit to add to the edge of the outfit. Again, if you don't want to make the outfit look edgy, a pair of simple silver hoops or even some diamond studs will suffice.
