One of the most frequent questions I get is how I do my eyeliner. I thought that I would make this post dedicated towards sharing how I do my eyeliner and a few tips and tricks that will make the entire process a bit more bearable.
In the below photo, I have already done my normal foundation routine. You can obviously apply some eyeshadow, however for this post I chose not to. I also used liquid eyeliner for this specific post as I find it easier to use.
With my eye shape, I find it much more easier to draw on my liner with my eyes open; whenever I try to apply eyeliner with my eye closed, it ends up looking a little strange. So the first thing you want to do is draw a diagonal line from the end of your eye towards the end of your brow.
After drawing the one line, I like to line my entire eye very thinly as a reference point of how thick I want my liner to be. Always start off by lining your eye thinly because if you make a mistake you can easily fix it.
From here, I draw a connecting line from the diagonal line to the thin line of my eye. This gives me a good skeleton of the shape of my liner. If I am unhappy with the shape, this is the time I would play around and make my liner thicker or longer.
After finding a proper shape for my liner I just fill it in. As you can see after filling it in my liner still does not look that good. Do not worry because this is where we can do more detail work and adjust the shape.
As you can see in the above photo that I made my liner a little more longer and smoothed out my connecting line. Honestly speaking there is no right way in doing the detail work, it all depends on your preferences.
I know this post may still not be enough as I have just taken pictures and briefly explained my routine. If this still does not help I recommend trying to search YouTube as there are many tutorials out there that will further help you.
Another thing to keep in mind is that this takes a lot of practice, you may not be able to nail this on the first attempt, however do not be discouraged and try again. A good time to practice is before you wash your face, before bed. This is a good time because if you mess up you can always just wash your makeup up and just jump into bed!
